| changes in nz citizenship |
gone are the days na mairi ka lang bigla at nanganak ka dito sa nz kahit na nagha-holiday ka lang ay maging automatic na nz citizen na ang baby.
well... binago na po. effective jan. 1, yung mga babies lang na ipinanganak na either parent ay nz citizen or a permanent resident or if one parent is a permanent resident of the Cook Islands, Tokelau or Niue a baby born to them will be a citizen.
The department of internal affairs says that "restricting citizenship by birth to the children of citizens and permanent residents, the Act's new provisions ensure that citizenship and its benefits are limited to people who have a genuine and ongoing link to New Zealand".
ayan... kaya malas na lang kung nanganak ka dito sa nz ng 12:01am ng jan 1. tsk! tsk! tsk!
ako kaya, kailan? hhmmmm.... ninuninuninuninuninu...... |
